I love Christmas and there are so many reasons to love it. However, there are some drawbacks, such as feeling uncomfortable meeting too many new people, or family members you have not met for ages. So I wanted to share with you my secret holiday gatherings conversation starters and you can tell me some of yours. Some of these questions are also great for virtual date text or first-date conversations.
I am kind of pulling questions from a bunch of different ones that I found about “Winter tags”,”Christmas tags”, “Would You Rather” lists, and other Xmas conversation topics. I also included my personal answers for your inspiration!
So without further ado…here we go!
What do you think are the best and worst parts of Christmas?
The Best:
- The decorations
- Giving gifts
- Shopping
- The food
The Worst:
- The clean up
- Grinches
Spend the holidays with your family or three celebrities (you choose the celebrities)?
Family first. I love my parents.
Be a kid or a grandparent during the holidays?
Kid. I had been the youngest of my generation for my grandparents since I was born. But now there started to be the next generation of nephews and nieces. So sometimes I need to play the auntie role and prepare gifts for college girls and boys.
Favorite Winter Color?
This season I am loving burgundy. I think it looks so great on everyone and it’s so classic.
What is your dream way to spend a winter day?
I think my dream way to spend a winter day would be baking cookies with people close to me. Maybe watching movie series or doing some holiday shopping.
What are the first three things that remind you of Winter?
Snow, cute Christmas decorations, and hot chocolate.
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I always do, but unfortunately, I am a part of the statistic who does not keep them. Recently I learned from Tim Ferris to do a Past Year evaluation instead. I will do it this year.
Is your 2024 Xmas tree real of fake?
Fake, and pink!
Favorite Christmas decoration?
Cute stocking stuffer & Christmas trees.
I am big on eco-friendly crafts and kawaii style these days. So I usually set a cute decor theme(pink, pastel purple, Sanrio, anime etc), then upcycle my old stuff and cute things to create the festival vibe.
Have to cook the holiday meal or clean up the mess afterward?
Cook the holiday meal. I cook OK.
How do you like to do your makeup in Winter?
My skin is very dry, so I like to have very glowy skin during the colder months. For my eyes, I like bold and sparkly looks.
Chug a gallon of eggnog at once or sit on a mall Santa’s lap for an hour?
Santa’s lap.

Have snow every day or no snow at all?
Snow every day.
Eat only holiday food or watch only holiday movies?
Holiday Food.
What are your plans for Christmas?
Practice kindness, eat well, sleep more. Relax and get ready for the new year. Also, shopping.
What would be your dream Xmas vacation?
Maybe at the beach of Bali. Read books and have no screen time.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
Oh Holy Night?
What are you most excited about next year?
I learned a life hack concept recently about how to plan your 10 years plan in 30 days.
For example, if you want to buy a house in 10 years, plan again and try to achieve it in 30 days. The result is you probably cannot achieve your goal in 30 days, but maybe in 200 days, which is much much better than the original planned 10 years.
I had been doing this exercise for all my life goals, the magic really happens when I plan things with impossible deadlines, then I become more creative and re-evaluate my resources.
Can’t wait to see the result the next year!
What is your favorite junk food for Christmas?
Mile shake, floating island with root beer, chocolate cakes – anything sweet and tastes evil is good for Christmas.
What’s your favorite hot drink in the Winter?
Hot chocolate.
Favorite Winter Nail Polish?
Anything white and pastel. I do not like the common dark tones of Christmas nails.
What is your favorite thing about Winter?
Christmas obviously! But outside of that, I love the snow. It hasn’t snowed much here yet, but I absolutely love snow. It’s so beautiful and magical.
Favorite Winter Scent?
Anything Vanilla.
Favorite Winter Accessory?
Kawaii soft gloves! They keep your hands warm and can look super cute! I love them!
Favorite Holiday Movie?
I don’t really have a favorite, but I love watching the Hallmark Christmas movies!
As a sibling, did a sibling ever receive a gift you wished was for you?
I don’t think so. Not that I can remember anyway.
